10. DeMarcus Beasley
DaMarcus Lamont Beasley is a versatile left-winger, left wingback, and left-footed player. Made his debut in the year 2001 for the US National Team and played over 16-years by earning 126 caps for his team at the international platforms. Spent over a decade abroad by playing for the various clubs in Netherlands, Scotland, Germany, England, and Mexico before returning to his side in 2014. Only US player in 4 FIFA World cups from 2002 to 2014. Retired from soccer after the 2019 MLS Season but returned again for the national team for the 2015 Gold Cup. By playing at the World Cup qualifier in 2017, he played in the 5 World Cup qualifying cycles who is the First American.
9. Brad Friedel
Bradley Howard Friedel played for the US Men’s National team from 1992 to 2005 by playing 84 games. Represented for his country at the 3 FIFA World Cup tournaments. He is the fourth most capped goalkeeper in international fixtures. After his retirement from the international levels, continued to play for various clubs. Also, he is the official oldest ever player who played for Aston Villa in 2012 by beating Jimmy Cantrell. Apart from the player, he served as the US U-19 and New England Revolution head coach. Under his assistant coaching, the U-20 US Team has won the 2017 Concacaf Championship.
8. Cobi Jones
Cobi N’Gai Jones is a former midfielder player who played between 1992 and 2004 for the US National Men’s Team. He ended up scoring 15 goals in the 164 caps. Played for 1994, 1998, and 2002 FIFA World cups and also participated at the 1992 Summer Olympics. At the 2000 Concacaf Gold Cup, he was named the best XI. After his retirement, served as an assistant coach in the two seasons for the LA Galaxy. In the year 2017, as the Director of Football joined City of Angels FC. Jones is considered as the all time leader in caps and also a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
7. Michael Bradley
Micheal Sheehan Bradley is the present captain of the US National Soccer team and plays as a midfielder. In 2006, made his debut at the international level against Guatemala. Played in the 2007 and 2009 Concacaf Gold Cup, 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups as well. The first time, in 2010 captained the national team against Brazil. After the 2015 Gold cup, Bradley was named as the new permanent captain. He also captains for the Toronto FC at the club level. In the year 2007, he was named as the “U.S. Soccer’s Young Athlete of the Year”.
6. Tim Howard
Timothy Matthew Howard had made his debut in the year 2002 by playing 121 games at the international level. Named as the most capped goalkeeper for the US National Men’s team in history. Participated at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups in all the matches. After the winning 2017 Gold cup, he announced his retirement from international platforms. Now, he plays for the Memphis 901 FC in the USL Championship for which working as a sports director and minority owner. He is the international ambassador for the former Everton club in the US. Howard was described as the “rarest of creatures – an American soccer hero” by the Chicago Tribune.
5. Eric Wynalda
Eric Boswell Wynalda was one of the first Americans who played professionally in Europe. He was the all-time leading goalscorer for the US National team until the year 2008. Made his debut in the year 1990 and played 1990 FIFA WC, part of the winning squad of the 1991 Concacaf Gold Cup, 1994 WC, and 1998 World Cup. Announced his retirement from international venues in 2000 by playing 106 matches and scored 34 goals. Apart from soccer he is a coach and television commentator and elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2004. Now, he is the first-team manager in the National Independent Soccer Association of the New Amsterdam FC.
4. Brian McBride
Brian Robert McBride played as a forward who earned 96 caps and scored 30 goals in his international career. Also, the 5th highest goalscorer for the US National team. Made his debut in 1993 and played in 1998, 2002, and 2006 FIFA World Cup. First American player to score at 2 World Cups. In 2006 WC, he was severely injured and announced his retirement from the international platforms. Again in the year 2008, he came out of retirement and played and was appointed as the captain for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. While playing with Fulham, McBride became the favourites of so many and after leaving the club, they renamed their sports bar in his honor. Named as the General manager of the US Men’s National team in January 2020.
3. Claudio Reyna
Claudio Reyna was the captain of the US Men’s national team who is occasionally referred to as Captain America in Great Britain. He was a member of the 1994 FIFA WC but did not play due to his injuries and then played in 1998, 2002, and 2006 FIFA World Cups. Represented his nation’s team at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics. Played 111 matches with 8 goals and became only the 3rd American soccer player who was named in the WC All-tournament team. After the elimination of the US team in 2006 WC, announced his retirement and he last played in the Major Soccer League for the New York Red Bulls. Currently, he is Austin FC’s Sporting Director.

Clinton Drew Dempsey is a forward midfielder who represented the US at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship by making his first preference with the senior team. He is 4th most capped player for his nation by earning more than 140 caps and scored 57 goals at the international level. Helped his team to reach the final of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and to win 3 out of 4 Concacaf Gold Cups. Ranked in NBC Sports, ESPN, and FOX Sports as the greatest American soccer player in history and scored a hat-trick in the Premier League who is the first American player to do so.
1. Landon Donovan
Landon Timothy Donovan is a former forward who holds many individual records for the National team and is regarded as the greatest US mens’ soccer players of all time. Regarded as the all-time leader in assists and the 2nd most capped player for his country. The only player to reach the mark of 50 goals/50 assists. He was in the 2002 FIFA WC in which his side reached the quarter-finals and scored 3 goals in the 2010 WC which made him the highest-scoring make American player in World Cup history. Also, 4-time winner of the US Soccer Athlete of the Year and 7-time winner of the Honda player of the year. Presently, he is the vice-president, co-founder, and manager for the San Diego Loyal SC.
